It’s nearly an hour later that he returns to Galactica. He decided to take the scenic route back, not quite ready to face another night spent alone.
It’s been years since he’s turned to a drink to lick his wounds with, but tonight seems as good a night as any to revisit old habits. It burns, just like he remembers, the taste potent and numbing.
He can still feel her lips even after his second drink. After the third, he finally concedes.
She was under his skin. She was in his thoughts.
There was no going back
