As promised, this is the first of what is sure to be several posts over the next little while. I am going to include each drabble in it's own post, and place them under the cut. I would really appreciate any and all feedback that you are willing to throw my way.
Title: Green
Pairing: Adama/Roslin from BSG
Rating: T
Summary: Bill gives Laura a very special gift.
Word Count: 300 words, story is complete.
Disclaimer: I do not own anything BSG related, RDM does and I will always envy him for that.
A/N: A huge thank you to my always patient and lovely beta reader abfabambrosia (stupid rich text thingy won't let me do the linky thing to her LJ) for being super awesome. I wrote this while I was listening to the song "Green Eyes" by Coldplay, hence my sappy mood, haha.
It was the colour that first grasped Laura’s attention.
Soft, subdued.....green.
Nothing like the sensual crimson of the red dress that he so openly admired that night on New Caprica. It was soft between her dry fingertips; the freshly spun silk mocking her once supple skin.
“Do you like it?” Laura could hear the anticipation in Bill’s voice.
“Yes, it’s lovely. Thank you Bill.” He relaxed visibly.
“Here, let me help you put it on, I was shown how.” Affection for Bill Adama filled her and she allowed him to tie the delicate material around her bare scalp. His hands were precise, strong, yet she could feel the splits and fractures that were tearing at his heart for they were mirrored in her own.
“There.” He said proudly as he stepped back to admire his handiwork. “That’s a nice colour on you.” His soft voice added another, even deeper, gash.
“Nicer than my red dress?” Laura couldn’t help the bitterness that infused her words.
“Yes.” Bill pulled her to him, his burly arms encasing her against his broad chest. “When I was sorting through the all the different fabrics I won’t lie, I was searching for something in red. But then I saw this and I knew that it was the one.”
“Why?” Laura breathed.
“Because as soon as I saw it, it made me think of your eyes, how green they get when you are happy, how beautiful they are. And I thought that this,” he placed a kiss on her scarf-clad head, “would look nice with them.”
“Thank you.”For making it all better when it isn’t. For holding me close to you. For your patience. For loving me.
“Anytime.” It’s going to be ok. I’m right here for you. I’ll wait until you are ready. I love you.
