Huh. Well, I saw the movie the day it came out... And... I think to sum it up: Harry Potter did it better. I know there are lots of comparisons and I also know many people don't like it. I have to say though, the Twilight books are incredible. I went into the books knowing nothing about the hype around them. I thought I just stumbled upon them at Borders and they ended up being excellent. I totally became fangirly right away though.

However, the movie... wow. The acting sucked. Cedward sucked. (haha. Cedward.) Robert Pattinson was terrible. And whoever played Bella... she was awkward and tried to make up for her terrible acting with hand gestures. For those of you who have seen me act (which may only be Kelly), I'm probably a better choice and I shouldn't ever be an option.

The lack of intensity between Bella and Cedward was pretty bad too. I was so excited to see that fire between them. Cedward mostly looked constipated when he looked at her. Throughout the movie, people mostly laughed hysterically at the acting. And! Stephenie Meyer was in the movie which means she saw all this happening and didn't fix it. Gross.

The movie also needed to be a little longer. The turn around from Cedward seeming to hate Bella to them falling in love was... neck-breaking. I read the books and still felt a little confused by it.

The best part of the movie was probably the casting of the bad vampires and their portrayal. Victoria's hair was a little calmer than I expected, but James. Woow. James was terrifyingly hot. Vicious but attractive. So lethal. Maybe I just love a badboy? Haha. The scene with James and Bella was my favorite. She couldn't talk so acting hurt wasn't that hard. James was exactly as I'd imagined him. The room too. Everything was excellent in that scene.

Overall, my guess is that people who saw the movie only didn't hate it nearly as much, but having read the books, the movie seemed awful. I probably will see the other 3 but not with the excitement I once had. I'm considering rereading the books though so that my Twilight experience isn't tainted.

General update: Things are going well. The semester is winding down. The enormous amount of stress I've been under recently has diminished. And I'm planning a trip to Cali for January. It's all very exciting. Now I just need to get a few more things worked out and I'll be ready for my nice long xmas break. :)
