Wow. Having an abortion does not make a woman unstable, dependent, or a murderer. Having an abortion is not "punking out." There are so many factors behind choosing an abortion. There are women who were raped. Fuck that, there are kids who are raped, 11 year old children who are carrying around a mass of cells that could or could not wind up turning into a baby. But these kids have the option of having this burden lifted and it isn't anyone else's place to judge them. There are women who cannot financially support a child and know that unless they are going to have a healthy white baby, their kid doesn't have a chance in hell of being adopted. Adoption is not as of a realsitic option as fundamentalist christians want you to believe. When a woman makes the choice to have an abortion, the last thing they need is some man who knows nothing about their situation judging them. Next time you choose to condemn all women who have an abortion, you might want to remember that there are strong independent women in your life who have had to go

I'm not judging them or condemning them, I don't have the type of power. What I did is took something that I don't agree with, and said it in a not so good way. Making the choice to have an abortion is not my argument. You know people that have had one that are close to you...I'm not coming at them, talking about the people that you're thinking of, accusing me, that I had them in mind when I wrote this. I wanted to take something I NEVER talk about EVER, because I was in mood to make a wave. I'm not a brutal person. I have a heart for people, my mistake was how graphic I got, how detailed I became. I meant no harm...in my minds eye I was just looking for a jaw to drop.

This is the most offensive thing I've read in a long time. The flippant use of the term "punking out" in reference to something that is as difficult a decision and emotionally and physically painful a process as an abortion made me... well, pretty much I have no words for the hurt that this caused. Do you think that an abortion is something that someone chooses lightly? Do you think its something they soon forget? Some people seem to think that we women who have have abortions haven't felt enough greif or guilt or pain so they think it's their place to add their own insults and opinions. What they don't know is, they are very very wrong.

I'm sorry that I offened you. I had no idea you went through that. It was wrong to express this circumstance so rudly, and so out in the open. Understand, that I have a heart for you...I did not mean to hurt you. There's no explaination for what I did, other than the fact that I wanted to take something I have never discussed, and put it such a way as to make a jaw drop; like I said, no excuse. I'm sorry...

You definitely made a jaw drop. Next time you want to make a wave think about who you could be affecting. And I'm not just talking about me because you had no way of knowing. But that's just the thing... you have no way of knowing who has actually experienced what you're talking abou so passionately and you have no way of knowing what its actually about or means to someone's life. Don't try to make a jaw drop on something as emotionally charged as this unless you've been there or you have a way of knowing what you're talking about.
