I know that you hate the words "mood" and "atmosphere" so I shall valiantly refrain from putting them into practice, but every single moment of this carries a certain...*tries to find the words*...something. *fails* Every word just falls into place so perfectly I guess. From Cas I just get this exquisite sort of longing, for Dean, and for a life where he's not invisible to the Winchesters, but at the same time, he could be content with what he has. With pretending he's close to Dean, and that makes me ache for him too, just as much as his palpable hope for being real to them. I think the fact that he's invisible to Dean, in all of this, just perfectly shows, in its own quiet way, exactly how Cas fits in to the equation at the moment ( ... )

This started off sweet and comforting, and quickly became painful. I really like the idea of one-sided Balthazar/Cas (I'm sure it's been done before, but I honestly never had thought of it until reading this. Then again, I'm not the biggest Bal/Cas person - I like the pairing, but my main focus is Cas/Dean. So I haven't given it much thought ( ... )

Thanks so much! Not recognizing that Cas was invisible and then twisting it in was the plan - I'm glad it worked! :D

I didn't realize Cas wasn't visible till the end. How sad to be so close yet still so far away from what you desire the most. And for that to be reflected in Balthasar too. Heartbreaking. Beautiful too

I actually did a sad "aw" when I realized Dean didn't know he was there. :/ Breakin' my heart.

This was lovely. Poor Cas.

Next time, I'll write something where Dean sees him, would make me happier, too. ;D

Thanks! <3
