I love this! I've followed enough boy bands in my time that this really appeals to me, and I'm sorry the whole 'verse didn't take off. (Maybe it will, now that you've posted this one?) Despite the angst, it really had me grinning throughout.

Can I persuade you to cross-post it at spn_bigpretzel? The whole concept is laugh-worthy enough that I think it's a good fit there - and I'm sure you'll find some folks who *adore* the idea of these five as a boy band in plastic pants.

I'm glad you enjoyed! It would have been fun to have the accompanying parts, I hope this is at least coherent on its own. ;D

I didn't consider spn_bigpretzel, thought it might be too angsty. But since it's your comm... lol.

It's angsty, true - but the concept makes it work (comm-wise). It conjures up so many images of foolishness. Hideous outfits, crazy hair, fans chasing them down the street. Plus, the comm has a lot serious Gabe fans. :)

Hi. Just, first, why, WHY did I not read this sooner? Like, months ago when it showed up in my inbox? I am KICKING MYSELF.

This universe is so brilliant. So well fleshed out for such a short fic, and hilarious and tender true all at the same time. (Oh god, it's so good I'm actually feeling sappy enough to use the phrase tender true, ok?) And I love the hints of the real RSJ we get in here -- the humble disbelief in his own appeal, the head-shaking over fans and fame.

I want so much more of this, I want to see this world from all the other characters' perspectives, but if that never comes to pass I will content myself by reading this over again. And maybe poking you with the sharp stick of e-mail for BTS info on what was to be.

Kicking yourself because of the three dropped words and all the places where the dashes aren't spaced out properly!

<3333 Lovelovelove. I think the Balthazar one is more or less finished, but the other three are woefully incomplete.

Well, nothing to do at works for the moment, though I am sure in five minutes they will have another cross-town errand for me to run, but for now nada, so am re-readering this and it's just as excellent as all the other times I have, but it's official now. :)

My favorite I think is how there's this wry angst that colors Gabe and it's there ever present and self deprecating, but it never completely eats away at the humor and tricksyness that's so important for him to ring true. And it's that I think that makes this more than just a one shot, but something you can sink into. And my heart aches for him and how he feels he can never really have that family that he wants more than anything, maybe never get back what they've lost(or maybe he can...one day, who knows ;D ) and is too Gabe maybe to fight for it or maybe he has fought for it over and over again and he's just tired now. This makes me want more 'verse ( ... )

As I told 9, why isn't there more of this?! It makes me sad that the other parts were never finished!

Sadness aside, poor Gabe, having to keep everything together while everyone else attempts, rather unknowingly, the tear things apart (boys will be boys). I like that even though he has all these thoughts and feelings to deal with it doesn't keep him from being his humorous, adorable self for the fans.

Well done, love! You have a good handle on Gabriel and I enjoyed this one. :)
