I enjoyed the concept of this fic very much, as well as several ideas that you put out there. My favorite was the bit with the swords - how they reflect the hearts of their wielders. It's fitting that Castiel should take up Balthazar's, if only in repentance and memorial. (that's how I interpreted it ( ... )

I'm glad you found it enjoyable! I find a lot of the time I like to employ the idea of "enter late, leave early" but the latter half most often. I'm certain Dean caught up with Cas somewhere down the road! Thanks for reading!

I, too, was expecting the "ride-off-into-the-sunset" ending so I was thrown off a bit, but that's my own fault for assuming. That being said, I did very much like this whole fic, including the ending. As another commenter said, this ending fits well with the context of the story.

I like the world you created and it's internal dynamics.

!! Gosh, I have school tomorrow, but I honestly couldn't stop reading this for a moment!
I loved how well written it was, as well as the twists and pulls you pulled along the way.
Definitely something I would like to re-read slower, another day. I'm so happy I found this fic, I always saw the art to it.

Aww, I'm so glad you enjoyed! <3 (And lol, thanks for the comment above. Just a troll account, can't make everyone happy. But it makes me laugh because I always thought it was pretty obvious that Dean was going to bring Cas his sword at the end. ;D )

While this turned out not how I expected, I'm just going to head-canon that Dean is going off to be with Cas in Celesti (I assume that's where Cas went even though you switched to calling it heaven somewhere in the middle). After all I think it's subtly implied that that's where Dean's going anyway. What better place for the sword to be than with Cas? Lawrence is too small for Dean now that he's seen the world. So perhaps making a new home in Celesti is just what he needs. Also, it was never touched on again, but I hope Jess made it and that she and Sam get to be together.
