I hope it goes well!

We have a few black Jews at my shul. I don't really think much about it, but Fred's wife was at services once and made a comment about how she thought it was strange (she's around 80 years old). I can kind of see where she is coming from because of her age, but a lot of shuls have black congregates. I read an article once where there was an entirely black shul, though I forget where it was. I think it's pretty neat.

the one i heard about was in chicago, beth shalom i think is the name. i think it started as an ethiopian jewish community if i remember correctly.

the one single guy is alfredo, he's from mexico based on my assessment of his accent. but within the couples, we have a colombian woman dating a jewish guy, a russian israeli marrying a turkish guy studying for conversion, and two people who lived in israel (the older couple). i really love seeing how diverse a group we really are.

The Black Hebrews are different from Ethiopian Jews, they have a few congregations in the US and Israel.
