you know, this is going to sound completely cheesy, but since i've never really worried what my friends think of me (it's just strangers that i worry about), i figure i'd go ahead and post this:

the feeling good handbook by david burns is really good. there are a lot of dorky exercises that tell you to write about your feelings, but i've only read ( Read more... )

You seem to have done alright with me. I think we were pretty fast friends that first weekend.

Of course, they made us sleep in the same room. That proximity could have helped. ;)

Just start making random (or related) comments in the book aisles. If they're not scared off then they're potentials.

:) i'm great at keeping a conversation going with strangers, but i'm not sure how to translate that into making a friend that'll call and want to hang out sometime, ya know? i'm sort of tempted to try to make friends with the bag boy at publix who talks to me all the time, but i'm worried he'll think i'm trying to hit on him or something.
