so i'm being deployed to atlanta for the red cross tomorrow night. i'm excited and nervous - to be expected, i s'pose. if i take a few deep breaths i know everything's going to be fine and this is what i'm good at and what my heart tells me is right to do, but i can feel the voices in my brain reminding me of the hard things i dealt with last year ( Read more... )

Take it and ask your supervisor-type person what they think. They'll have more experience in knowing how the folks you'll be helping will take it, and if you don't get to wear it, your fellow volunteers will likely appreciate it when you show it to them, at least.

You are my current hero. I had no idea. Stay safe and do lots of good out there (like you need someone to tell you to do that). I say, take the shirt. Even if you never wear it, I think it should be in your bag as a secret sign of resilience. :)
