so i was gassing up a while ago about 30 minutes past midnight, just because i read somewhere that you could get a few droplets more when the temperature's lower. anyway, the first thing the gas boy said to me was, "full tank sir?"
i wanted to shout back at him, "are you being intentionally dense? don't you read, or at least, watch the news? can't

sa tingin ko naman, expanding the vat was forward thinking on the part of the former senator back then.. it was about time taxes were raised..the fact na kinukurakot lang ung taxes is moot; still, we can't say that the evat is fundamentally bad or flawed just because kinukurakot lang sya ng mga opisyales ng pamahalaan.. in fact, it made perfect sense when it was passed.. i guess hindi lang nila na-anticipate na gas prices would skyrocket like this..
the evat would have been great if the extra taxes were used wisely, kaso nga lang, hindi pero it doesn't mean mali ung pagkaka-impose nun.. for now, i guess, it's best na i-suspend muna nila ung evat sa gas and basic commodities just to alleviate the rising prices..

higher gas prices trigger everything, meaning all consumer goods, and services, that are available. as a result for example, a jeepney driver who pays his taxes then has to pay an additional tax for fuel. what's the sense in that?
it would be wishful thinking that they would consider suspending or repealing the law. a more reasonable action would be to reduce the tax from 12% to 5?
an interesting side note on recto is that he didn't win in his re-election bid as senator. one of the very few instances that pinoys voted because of policy.

it was a good, fundamentally sound law that just didn't cut it because of various factors, so we can't really pin a bulk of the blame on one former senator..i guess my point is this: let's not make him the ultimate scapegoat for the rising prices of everything..a lot of people had a hand in the problems now besetting our country (e.g., indirectly, may kasalanan din si bush dito...) but i agree sa suggestion mo na bawasan na lang ung tax ng gas since wishful thinking na ire-repeal o i-susupend ang entire evat law
Brian "The Editor" Sales Vs. Ralph "The Former Senator" Recto!!!
shet...serious topic nanaman ah.. mature na talaga ang mga ego boys ng ust...
on a lighter note, interesado rin pala lakers kay posey ah.. tsk, tsk, tsk..desperate for a tough guy ang lakers.. pero wishful thinking din kaya 'to--celtics sign posey, maggette, and mourning...

di ako masyado in favor sa interes kay posey. they should make moves to get artest, the ultimate tough guy.
