I think it's pretty fantastic that you used social media as a method of meeting people... I know of at least one woman who said she only wanted to meet potential dates/mates via websites, so she could know everything about them before ever meeting them! It made for very easy shorthand!

Anyway, I hope you have some positive experiences with your idol go!

I am the SAME WAY. I come off as elusive, snooty, and bitchy in person, but that's mostly because all through middle and high school I was the kid nobody wanted to "be seen with" so we had to ignore each other in public settings. So that's my default. If I get to know someone online, it feels a lot more intimate and I can show myself better, and if you actually want to get to know me, you can, and if you don't, you just defriend me and we go our separate ways. Then if I know someone's playing an active role in my life and genuinely care, in person I don't have to ignore them or wait for an invitation to sit together. Heh.

Social anxiety sucks! People have assumed I'm stuck up because I find it hard to interact in social situations.

*hugs*

I hear what you're saying - it's easier for me to do public speaking than to make a phone call. It's a pain.
