» History: Deiphobus is a son of Priam and Hecuba and a prince of Troy. Most of his history comes from the time of the Trojan War in which he was ranked bravest after Hector. First. with his brother Helenus he led a unit of Trojans against an Achaean camp killing Ascalaphus, son of Ares, among many others. However he was wounded in the heat of battle which forced him to withdraw.
The goddess Athena took the guise of Deiphobus in order to deceive Hector in his battle with Achilles, however by the time the trick was discovered it was too late for the great hero. *This isn't necessarily important for his history, but it could become pertinent in the game.
With Hecuba desiring revenge for the death of Hector, Deiphobus, with his mother and Paris plotted the death of Achilles under the false pretense that Polyxena and he would be married. After being lured to the temple of Apollo the Greek warrior was ambushed and shot down by an arrow from Paris.
After the death of Paris he sought the hand of Helen, but his brother Helenus also wanted to put in a bid for the stunning Greek. Because of his service in the war thus far combined with his prowess as a warrior he was awarded Helen. Though never on friendly terms, Deiphobus was quite pleased with himself after the marriage and wasted no time in trying to exert control over his new wife. Eventually he met his end at the hands of Menelaus the bastard. He likes to not dwell on this fact.
» Reincarnations: Deiphobus isn't nearly as popular has he should be, and so he hasn't been reincarnated until now. For him life has been a cake walk compared to back in Troy, so by the time he remembered his life back then he wasn't too disappointed to leave it behind. He was born the oldest son of a man from generations of money and prestige who made his wealth in the west, Southern California to be exact. From birth things were looking up for him. He was rich, and had adoring baby sisters who looked up to him, no brothers to be bothered with, and plenty of time to train. Of course Damien had to attend school, which he hated; he made average grades, good enough ones to participate in athletic clubs. Damien was kicked off the football team for unsportsman like behavior though, a claim he finds ridiculous to this day. Teen years weren't all bad for Damien, he met the woman who was destined to be his wife--Helen, though he didn't realize at the time. At first she was just a pretty girl, but slowly the pieces started to come together, by the time he had a full grasp of the situation it was too late to do anything--his father had him training and working nonstop, and he needed to be there for his team. Hell, maybe he'd imagined that girl who got the ball rolling was Helen, only so he could cope with later figuring out who he was in the past, and not be so lonely about it. Damien thinks of her all the time, he can't help it and some memories are clearer than others.
Of the 6,000 officers in his families private military company his family has always been at the top, and naturally Damien had to prove his skill. Fighting his his best asset, and lucky for him he's damn good at it. He beat his own father in fact, but being the gracious man that he is decided to let the old man keep his spot as top dog. Damien got a raise, a penthouse in Manhattan, and commands a unit of the best soldiers from his father's private military company. Because he and his troops work only when called they have a fair amount of time off, and Damien has even more time to waste his parent's money.
» Personality: Damien feels most in his element doing what he loves, training, fighting and in general beating the shit out of assholes. However, the ease that comes with fighting is not without consequence; his skill warrants confidence but this warrior takes it a few steps further, he’s a pompous bastard. But it's not for nothing, Damien comes from a family that owns one of the largest private military companies in the world--four generations have passed down the supreme skill and Damien just happens to be the oldest. There's still a downside. While he could appear jovial surrounded by others, most people would probably prefer not to be friends with him, and indeed he has very few. Girls will flock to him because of his looks and prowess but he's never had a relationship lasting longer than two months; women get fed up with him. Even his family get fed up with him from time to time, but he's much more tolerable around them. Regardless until someone dethrones him (in this lifetime) Damien is going to be as cocky as he wants.
Although not obvious in a traditional sense, Damien is an insecure individual. He's not the moping, feeling sorry for myself type, but he is the type who's been dumped by girls before they hit the three month mark... and maybe one of those exes filed a restraining order against him. When you're as skilled a fighter as Damien you're bound to run into trouble with the law, and he has more than once--his temper doesn't exactly help matters. To top everything off he's faced plenty of heat from his grandfather and father for his temper tantrums, their family is fairly well known, not only does Damien embarrass himself, but his entire family. This isn't so dissimilar from his life in Troy either, except back then Deiphobus wasn't even a close second to his brother, Hector. To make a long story short Damien is damn glad he doesn't have to deal with brothers like in his past life, particularly Paris and Hector, and is quite content with his places as the best fighter within his families company. These insecurities don't bring him down too often, but it's easy enough to draw them out of him, if the right buttons are pushed that is. Damien is mostly confident in his skill and ability to intimidate people, because he's really good at it simply because he's a dick. If you want to be crude, blunt and very accurate about it.
If it wasn't already obvious Damien's most distinguishable characteristic is his massive temper. It is easily set off with the result usually being shouting and the use of forceful language. More often than not he becomes overheated when things do not go the way he wants, of course there are individuals he would not cross, like his father and grandfather (and back then Priam and Hector) respect more than anything. Being so irritable Deiphobus has little tolerance for immature behavior, indecisiveness, and disobedience among other things, plus a lot of things piss him off. While he may seem likely to go off at anytime, in formal settings he can behave like a gentleman, again out of respect for those higher in rank than he. To contrast, he is the most unrelenting fighter and failure is simply not an option, in fact he'd rather die.
A quality that proves to be most useful when fighting and in every day life is his decisiveness. Damien is sure of himself and therefore able to take swift and likely favorable action. He's got a good eye for catching an opponents weakness, of course some are harder to read than others, but Damien is so used to it that he can end most battles quickly. Apart from using his fists he's the type of man who knows what he wants when he sees it--he's very want take have.
Because his less desirable traits are no secret people are bound to talk. Damien cares little for others opinion of him (with the exception being certain family members), but he isn't completely devoid of reaction, insults are annoying and more often than not he'll say something nasty in retaliation, and that's just to start. As far as he is concerned anyone who is insulting him is only doing so because of insecurities anyway. Generally he is able to hold of from throwing blows or screaming but occasionally someone will strike the wrong chord at which point he will become angry, very angry. Let's just say Damien is a heavy drinker, and that he can drink his whole family under the table. He doesn't get hammered every night, but he enjoys a nice whiskey every night, plus drinking is a good men's social tool.
Ah women, Damien loves to hate them. Through and through he is a misogynist, though his mother and sisters are exempt from such contempt, however, his girlfriends most certainly were not. As terrible as it sounds, women often times become trophies and he's always quick to drop a sassy unnecessary comment. While he would never consent to the level of violence against his women, he is far from noble and chivalrous. However, if there is a special lady that catches his eye he is very much capable of being a gentleman and charming. Plus he's got that whole bad boy thing going for him.
