...The castle, always the castle. More often than not, it was where Bak spent his sleep. Wandering in the same dream world that plagued him. Blood-red fog, mocking laughter and hopelessness had always been what welcomed him before. But why the sudden change?...
More and more it'd begun to look just like any other castle, fogless, dimly-lit and safe. Safe, something he hadn't felt in a long time. So much so that instead of the usual running he'd taken time to explore his strange dream castle.
On the third fogless night, he felt eyes on him. Heard the loud clank of metal against stone, the source of which he never managed to find, not until a week later. When he caught the glint of shining pewter armor. And fearlessly settled into the presence of the knight that came to follow him. Everywhere, never speaking a word. When he moved, it moved. Where he went, it did. He never came to question it, it seemed so natural. Like he knew the hulking person beneath the metal. And it bothered him.
He dreams of wires, everywhere. Looped around his wrist and fingers, draped over him like a blanket, warm in an odd way. Like an electric blanket keeping him cozy in his all too cold bed, making him curl further against their warmth. Every so often the wire at his wrist tugs, trailing off to bed and into a corner of room obscured from his vision. Where the sound of nuts and bolts being screwed into place accompanies a familiar humming. He wakes.
Feathers, soft feathers. And the warm shadow of a monstorous bird, not scary like the one that usually loomed over his tiny, freezing cage. For once in this setting he felt safe, but it didn't take long for it to change. Soft down became sharp, feather-shaped razors tearing at his arms, burying in his chest, any sign of the bird gone. Leaving him colder, more lonely than ever. And weeping.
Being home had been a welcome change for Bak. Even if he did temporarily forget his time in the Dressing Room. He woke up in a hospital room, achy and confused, his arms wrapped. Saved yet again from being targeted by Inaba's rogue murderer. Having been taken and thrown into the midnight channel.
With the help of his friends he put his shadow in place, gaining a cheerier attitude and all the confidence he'd needed. But something wasn't right, it tugged at the back of his mind whenever he stared at the scars on his arms. And especially when the dreams started. Not to mention things had changed.
For one, Lenalee had joined their group, Komui's aunt and uncle having handed her over to his closest relatives near by after she became hard to deal with, extremely tantrum-prone without her older brother. She attended middleschool nearby, and regularily visiting her brother became part of the group, especially when eventually she got her own persona. To Bak, she became somewhat of a little sister, even though the natural jealousy of her taking up Komui's time began to arise.
As of late, the strange dreams and flashes of another place have begun to hit Bak badly, and it scares him. Having started with bursting into tears whenever he hears a particular evil cackle from the science labs. Small things trigger a smile or a breakdown. Memories of the Dressing Room peeking through.
Arcana and social links.
If you're not familiar with the persona games, this is a little explanation of the arcana and social link system. While usually used to make stronger personas, for those who interact with Bak, it'll end up an indicator on how friendly he is with your character, and the arcana card you character will get might just end up having a cool/fun effect if his social link level is high with them.
Basically, once you interact with him for the first time after this point, you'll recieve a card that Bak can't see. The Empress Arcana. The card will have little rectangular markings at the bottom, ten of them. That will "fill" whenever a social link level is gained. Levels are gained by becoming friends with Bak, ten meaning he trusts you completely.
