the FSU superensemble and the UKMET models predict formation of a tropical system Category 3-5 Hurricane near 50W 20N, or roughly 1,000 miles ENE of Puerto Rico, in the 12-day range. Keep your eyes open.
oh yeah, and there's probably going to be a hurricane cruising by Hawaii. -

Whoa, Ophelia, you're breakin' my heart! You're shakin' my confidency daily!
The models seem to all be on the GOOD crack, and each one has Ophelia doing its own little strengthen/weaken/loop thing. The NHC forecast is a tentative combination of the more prevalent, historically accurate models.
But they're still on crack.
