Whew, the last few days have been a whirlwind to say the least. I haven't had the time to post because people have kept us busy! Not that I'm complaining, really - I've been keeping notes on Office Mobile on my phone so I wouldn't forget important events, but suffice it to say, this entry will be a long one. Very stiff, suspension-wise - I was bouncing around all over the place on it. Even the owner said he wants to swap out the spring on the rear because of it, lol.

Aside from that, I loved it - being a smaller motor, it was really light. It handled like it was on rails. And the power characteristics were like the best of both worlds of twins and in-line fours. But I only got to ride it for about 30 miles total, so it's not like I had a lot of time to evaluate. :)

You could certainly make a case for it being a much more useable and user friendly motorcycle than your Ducati, but the riding position is still fairly extreme. However, if you get the chance, take a test ride on a Street Triple. Same motor and chassis as the Daytona, slightly cheaper suspension (the new Street Triple R will have the same spec of suspension and brakes as the Daytona, but the bike doesn't really need it), and a naked sit-up riding position, all for about $9,000 all in and on the road. If you like it as much as I expect you will, you could offer up your Ducati and come away with a new bike and a pile of cash on top...

Sorry, the Ducati isn't going anywhere. :P

I might buy one in addition to the Duc... but I *like* my Ducati, thank you very much.
