I know most banks around here won't do more than three years on a used car as a rule--the odds the car will die before then and you will default on the loan (who wants to pay on a car they don't even have anymore?) are too high. Could be the bank balked.
When I bought the car before my present one, I wanted five and they would only do three.
Yeah, I talked it over with the credit union and they said they don't do 84 month loans on $9800. Feh. They ALSO said both the dealership AND the company that acts as an intermediary between car dealerships and Colorado credit unions should have known that, too.
After spending over 40 minutes on the phone with the credit union (mostly on hold or shuffling between people), I finally got the answers I was looking for. Not the ones I really WANTED, but the correct answers nonetheless.
So now I head back to Greeley after work. [sigh] Will this nightmare never end?

When I bought the car I have now, I went in, drove it, signed the paperwork, and went back home, all inside an hour!
