Everyone keeps talking about the four dark spots on Pluto. Is it just me, or is it more like a single dark region overlain by lighter stripes?

It's a Rorschach test the size of a (dwarf) planet -- and I gather that's the best view we're going to get of those features, as the closest approach will be on the other side. Cue a crop of PhD theses in image processing wizardry ...
