So, I took Soolin to bed. To sleep. Poor girl--well, poor woman. She *is* two years older than me. I hope... I can *only* hope she has forgiven me for Gauda Prime

*knocks politely on the door and pokes his head in without waiting for a response* Tarrant, good to see you, old boy. Heard you were in spot of bother... *trails off, noticing the other glass* Ah, sorry, didn't realise you were expecting company. I'll come back later, shall I? *moves to leave*
[Tarrant is alarmed as he hasn't seen Harry for weeks! His face lights up and he flashes his most brilliant smile.]
Harry!
[He rushes to the door and hugs Harry.]
You're not going anywhere, my old mate!.
[He puts his arm around Harry's shoulders and leads the stammering Harry to sit on the bed with him, and offers Harry the spare champagne glass.]
Y'see, Harry, I have these silly ideas sometimes. Like laying a filled glass on the table, waiting for someone to join me in a toast. Wishful thinking, but tonight it worked! Share it with me now, old friend.
[maintains polite-but-awkward smile and raises glass] Jolly nice you, Tarrant, haven't had a good glass of champagne in a long time.
To surviving, and to hope [clinks glasses and takes a long glup]
Good to know you're in an optimistic sort of mood, I must say. Everything's so very bleak lately, I just doesn't know what to do with myself. Good to see you again, though, there's nothing like seeing a crewmate to cheer you up, that's what I always say.
[Tarrant empties his glass in one long gulp, and pours new ones for both of them.]
Indeed. As it happens, I was feeling rather down myself--well, you know what it is to be a man on a ship full of gorgeous men women.
[Ponders for a while, then takes another deep drink. Then he lays his arm over Harry's shoulder.]
It.. it isn't easy. And as you're a medical man, I wondered if there was some easy... natural way to help me. Other than drinking myself stupid, that is.
[OOC: No kidding. We need to find a way to slow time down a bit for them; we're almost running the game in realtime! It doesn't help that you seem to have brought some strange timewarps with you...] :)
