Hello, everyone! I'm Delcat Delcat. You may remember me as an unremarkable loser. That is, sadly, the case. However, I am an unremarkable loser with a story to tell

Wow... Someone actually liked Secret Of Evermore. Go figure...
But I admit to an unfair bias: I dropped the game fairly quickly once it was clear that SoE was not going to start looking of feeling like Secret of Mana anytime soon. Also, that Squeenix decided to go with this Westernized sequel instead of translating Seiken Densetsu 3. (Well, that and pushing Super Mario RPG. Still would've rather had SD3)
Wow. Having a senior GAFFer being the first to comment on this is like being in school and realizing a cute upperclassman has been standing behind you watching you draw horrifying manporn. Hi.
I think one of the biggest reasons I enjoy SoE as much as I do is that I went into the game with no expectations. I had no idea what it was or what it was supposed to be, just that it was a new game to rent. In the tiny town that I live in, before I had the cash to buy used games, that was merit enough.
Nice icon, by the by. I wavered between SoE and FFVI for a long time, then decided to go with something fewer people are likely to have played. If no else has claimed it once I've finished and recovered from this one...enh, who knows?
Presumably, this is before the Anime Girl gene was stomped out of the common gene pool, only to surface millions of years later (billions? Dinosaurs are screwing with my equations again) in fictional Japan.
Unfortunately, the Secret of Mana connotations really killed it. People were expecting a sequel or at least a connected game, but aside from bits and pieces like the battle system, SoE is NOTHING like SoM. Honestly, had I had the same expectations other people had, I would've been disappointed too. It'd be like expecting Discworld and being handed HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy--even though both have great merit, they can't be compared except on a base level.
HE SEEMS TO BE IN THAT MODE A LOT IN THIS PLAYTHROUGH. c'mon, dude, this is because I gave you a girl's name when I first played when I was, like, eight, isn't it
I'm glad I'm helping make it enjoyable :D I was a bit afraid I was getting too wordy with the mechanics.
Next one should be up...um...soon, I have the next two editions uploaded, I just have to format them. Sometime today or tomorrow when I feel like hand-editing another 300-ish link numbers. It's a lot less tedious than it sounds, but it's hard on the wrists. A little R&R with a heating pad and I'll be good to go again :D
I loooooooooooove this game. I only played it up until that STUPID RAT BOSS because I never use alchemy except for healing and puzzles and managed to screw up the glitch that lets you skip him. D: BUT I LOVE IT. I own an actual cartridge, and lemme tell ya - I had a choice between Secret of Evermore and Secret of Mana. I took Evermore without hesitation. <3
...a lot of other gamers look at me like I have three heads when I say that, but I DON'T CARE. I'll take humor over popularity any day, and I can play SoM and Seiken Densetsu 3 on ROMs anytime I want to anyway. :P
I even drew fanart of SoE I love it so! <3 I always named the boy Alex and the dog Cerberus. Hee. But actually the cart I got had some saves from its previous owner(s) with some pretty cool names, so I didn't delete them. Perhaps I should take a shot of that to show you? :3

YES YES A FAN HOORAY! Oh man, I was so expecting a series of blank stares with this, I never thought I'd get someone who actually loves the game :D Don't worry, fangirling is welcome here
