The DAAP media server, mt-daapd, which we use here to serve music around the house doesn't work with iTunes 10. Apparently a missing value that previous versions of iTunes would just assume is now required, and the server hasn't been updated in several years. Somewhat annoying, since we use iTunes on various computers around here, as well as Rhythmbox when in Ubuntu. Of note is that this server software is very widely used in NAS and music server appliances, and they've all been made unusable for systems using iTunes 10.
After following some threads for the past week or so, a few users posted some hackish patches which fixed the behavior on iTunes, but broke it elsewhere. I fixed up the patch to work properly in the existing server API and posted it. The Debian package maintainer is posting in that thread as well, so with luck it'll get incorporated into the Debian and Ubuntu packages.
