It's bad and getting worse. I learned this morning that dolphins _are_ washing ashore dead because of the crude oil. This pisses me off in addition to the only things that "work" are methods that allow BP to recover some of the oil along with all the lies spewing from the government and from Tony Hayward's mouth. They could have nuked the well in the first week. Yes the radiation would have been bad, but not as bad is allowing the well to spew for two more months while yet another untried technology is readied. I am tired of seeing images of pelicans, crabs, and dolphins covered in what has the color and consistency of shit. And to know that the dolphins are intelligent enough to know something is wrong, and yet be incapable of getting out in time and being unable to do anything about it. I wish I could AFFORD to do something about it. :(

It may be a bit trite and overdone, but I'm going to go with either "greedy" and/or "evil".

Evil, greedy, avaricious, insensitive (yes I have seen Tony Hayward's alligator tears), uncaring. A great example of what is wrong with rampant capitalism. While I believe in capitalism, even it needs checks sometimes.

Ever notice that the only technologies that have a chance of working are ones that allow them to recover some of the crude? Top kill never even had a chance of working and they'll come up with a "reason" why nuking their precious well won't work either.

Using a nuke has potential to make this problem so much worse, though. Not just the possibility of igniting the oil on the surface, but widening the opening and increasing the flow.
