Solution to the crashing problem: install Linux (or upgrade to Windows 7).

I've always hated Winblows. And any game that is written to be stable on any Winblows platform must be written so that it sucks, too.

Switch to console? I gave up PC gaming ages ago. You can get a used Xbox cheap now.

Some of the games I play are not available on the XBox. Even though the XBox could easily handle a flightsim like Freefalcon. On the other pec, consoles are the playground of the FPS. Even ARMA II is coming to the XBox.
