Whenever I think it is safe to respond to comments on Youtube, I get responses like this one that prove to me that the rest of the world does indeed, and quite deeply, hate the United States

You do realize that even if we distance ourselves from world politics completely, we'll still rot from our own internal problems within a few decades, right?
We have several unsolvable issues on the table currently, not the least of which is a fiat currency that's been stretched beyond all sanity since the 1980s.
The more I see of today's America, the more the people that compare us to a falling empire like Greece, Rome, or even mother England, make a startling amount of sense.
The problem with the currency is that we keep printing more. Plus if we quit throwing around money like beads at a Mardi Gras parade we could fix that. The idiots we have in Congress and in the Whitehouse currently aren't really helping by passing stimulus after stimulus and bailing out banks that should be buried in the holes they dug themselves into.
We were once a country of hard workers. We can become that again. Also we CAN cut our dependence on foreign oil simply by tapping the immense oil fields we still have. Of course we would have to get around the environmentalists (anyone notice the word mental in environmental?) most of which are hypocrites anyway.
Agreed, we're printing more money when we don't have anything to back it. China is going to end up owning us lock, stock, and barrel if they buy any more of our debt out.
You mean like BP was doing? Because that worked out SO well.
We'd be far better off if we invested in "alternative" energy. Because eventually the oil will run out (no matter where it's coming from) and if we don't have anything to replace it with, bloody near all of western civilization is going to stop cold in it's tracks.
Well BP wasn't following ANY of the safety regulations. If they had and hadn't pressured the rig operators to meet an impossible deadline, then that shit would not have happened. They cut so many corners on that rig that they made a square a circle so of course the rig exploded.
The latest generation of nuclear reactors are very safe so I would like to see more of those going up since not every state has the necessary open terrain for the massive windfarms that would have to be built and not every state gets enough direct sunlight to really make solar farms practical either. We do have a massive windfarm out in west Texas. Pretty cool to see from I-20.
I chose to vent here instead of respond to the troll. It wears on you when you see your country denigrated at every turn. Especially if you love that country in spite of the management that is running it into the ground.
I would call it a civil war since it is Mexicans fighting Mexicans and since we have border county sheriffs here, in Texas, advising their citizens to arm themselves.
Maybe the media outlets of the world sensationalize the good along with the bad?
Oh please, don't do the "U just hate cause u jealous" thing.
I can tell you why many middle eastern people hate america, it's because the US government fucks around in their part of the woods to further the interests of themselves and Israel.
Don't use the "America sells X to Israel and therefore supports everything Israel does" argument because we don't. IIRC we sell weapons to many Arab countries so you can't even use THAT as an argument anymore. Hell, the Arabs are getting a better version of the F-16 than we use.
I agree that if there wasn't oil there, we wouldn't give a flying fuck what went on there and we'd be damned for that, too.
Well, the Arabs get all the oil money. Giving Israel grants evens the playing field. What they _do_ with that money is not determined by the U. S. Again it does not constitute support or condoning what actions they decide to spend that money on. Besides, we send financial aid to more places than that little country.
Since you are so focused on what bad things my country does, name one good thing my country has done. I know that may be hard because the good hardly ever gets reported when it comes to _anything_ the United States or any organization based in the U. S. does.
