It's all very exciting... I'm not too near to Stratford, but will try and make it a couple of times. I've also added that Patrick Stewart will be appearing with him... It's certainly a star studded cast!

I have the complete works of Shakespeare on my bookshelf. I think I've opened it, ooh, twice. And not to read on either occasion.

I suspect it's goodbye Ten, hello Eleven after next series. I'm going to start a "Freema Agyeman for Eleven" campaign now. Well, if the Doctor can get an accent by 'imprinting' on Rose, why can't Martha have more of an impact? ;-)

I've never read (nor done at school!) Hamlet, so I know very little besides the normal stuff most would know. I even went and looked for a story outline, just to make sure I was thinking the right thing. I know even LESS about Loves Labours Lost, so there you go ;-)

I consciously chose to do "Death of a Salesman" rather than "Romeo and Juliet" at school. (I also picked Phillip Larkin over Robert Burns for my poetry option, I liked to stay away from the crowds!) I've seen a fair few of his plays since but like you, I only have a passing familiarity with Hamlet. I'll have to get the book down again, I think. Or maybe I could just watch the version Kate Winslet was in. That might work. :-)

Haven't we already seen Tony Blair in DW? A power crazed Prime Minister who brainwashes the country into voting for him before taking us into a war...if you rearrange the beat of Saxon's drums, you can almost hear the refrain - Things can only get better.

You had a choice? I had to do Romeo and Juliet and like it! Poetry wise it was Wilfred Owen, which depressing as hell, but I oddly liked it and thrilled my English teacher by asking to borrow more from her.

I've not seen much shakespeare on stage and most recently I've only seen the updated 'rock' versions (and actually, when I think about it, it's not that recently!) of the Scottish play (me, superstitious? ;-) ) and I think it was the Tempest. Anyways, I'm looking forward to it greatly and have already booked time off from work for opening night. Not that I'm sure I'll be able to get tickets, but it's during school holidays and it would be a bugger trying to get the time off if I left it 'til next year!

You know, you're right. Maybe he'll be the new, reincarnated Master ( ... )

So far the Scooby plan is first night Hamlet, 20th Sept Hamlet, 15th Oct LLL, 15th Nov LLL and Hamlet. Phew!
