i make this super yummy (to me) tomato paste/sauce for crustinis for dinner in the summer sometimes.

i just take one tomato cubed, throw in a food processor with a little olive oil, balsamic vinegar, a little garlic, and a little salt, blend till thin, and then spread on crustinis. very tastey :)

mmm! That sounds great...I'd probably spread a little goat cheese on the crustinis too because i'm like that

renegade :)

im not a fan of goat cheese, but i love ball mozerella. but now that you say that, have you ever seen the recipes in French Women Don't Get Fat? Seeing your list of foods reminds me of alot of those recipes.

I haven't -- but mostly because i tend to eschew self-helpy diet sorta books. But if there's a place to look at the recipes without looking at the rest of the book, I'd love to see them!

I’ve never cooked with fennel. In fact, I don’t think I’ve even had fennel (well fresh fennel, I’m sure I’ve had the seeds). What is the flavor like?

it has a very light anise flavor...it's great when shaved very thin (like slaw) OR it's also good braised in the winter time.
