Is it me, or is delicious basically useless now? I am honestly not trying to be an asshole; I work in software development and I know how hard they've been working, but... holy shit
( Read more... )
I've been pissed off all day about this. And I still haven't gone beyond the point where I just want to swear in capslock about how I want my tag bundles back, dammit! And being able to see all of my tags and - and everything else that doesn't freaking work anymore. Argh.
I don't have the API (umm, I don't even know what it is?) so I can't even get that info that way.
What tags do they put on the front page?
Looks like it's the tags used most recently, which, yeah, it's fucking useless.
("on the dashboard." Fine, where's the dashboard?!)
[this is high motivation for me to get my butt moving on submitting a design for Dreamwidth's memories overhaul, as a lot of the proposed functionality overlaps with what people liked about delicious.]

YES, YES IT IS. Plus, now you have an excellent example of what not to do. :P
I've noticed the weird searching too. Maybe it's a problem with punctuation? Clicking on my fanfic tag seems to bring up only those bookmarks; but clicking on fanfics also brings up bookmarks tagged fanfics-mine. It seems like that really shouldn't be a problem, especially since they're now allowing tags with spaces in them--I wonder if those are working right
( ... )
Yeah, exactly. Like, even if we accept that fen are insane edge-case weirdo users, which we mostly are (except there are a lot of us!), a lot of the normal-people accounts are used to bookmark things they want to find later. BUT NOW YOU CANNOT FIND ANYTHING EVER AGAIN. I seriously do not understand what they were thinking.
I think a lot of the tag-management stuff is going to be reimplemented at some point, like tag renaming and deletion, but... man. I can only assume avos' hand got forced as to when they were going to go live with this, because this site is in no way ready for actual users.
It's a total disaster. (Only 10 links per page and it won't tell me how many pages there are? WTF?) I'm planning to write an email to feedback@avos and then avoid the whole thing for a few days and see if they've fixed it/made it somehow functional.
In the meantime, is it too late for me to re-back-up my bookmarks, I wonder. *wanders off to figure this out*
I could see using stacks for rec lists, maybe: here is a list of my favorite Iron Man stories. But they don't replace bundles for account navigation and ease of use, which was what most people used bundles for. I haven't played with stacks too much yet because every time I go to delicious I get stuck on SHOW ME ALL MY TAGS OH MY GOD, but I don't think they will serve as a complete replacement.
And it seems you have to save new links to add to a stack (haven't tried it yet) or add manually. Not sure. Bundles were better. At last Diigo still shows all my tags (even without bundles) after importing.

The "my stacks" seems to be something similar, or?
