If you didn't opt in to the AVOS transfer and thus lost all your bookmarks, or if you did opt in but in the transfer they managed to drop some of your bookmarks anyway, Delicious now has a tool for retrieving them.

We have deployed a tool that will allow you to retrieve your old bookmarks from Yahoo! and import them to your account on the new ( Read more... )

Not sure if this helps explain your problem, but they put a different post about it on the AVOS blog (http://www.avos.com/rescue-bookmarks-from-yahoo/) and in that one it says that you can't use the tool if you used to login to Delicious with your Yahoo ID -- it only works on old-skool Delicious accounts.

Yep, that explains it. ARGH.

Mind you, I got notification that the migration was completed, but somehow my account simply isn't showing up. Thanks AVOS. I really hate you now more than anything. :(

Hello!

Is there any chance to still retrieve my bookmarks?
The link you have indicated is just taking me to homepage of delicious.

Thank you

Yeah, that link isn't working for me, either. Guess they discontinued that tool once they figured most people had finished using it. I went into my del settings page and clicked on "Import links" in the left pane, then clicked the "Import bookmarks" link, thinking it might be a more current link for the recovery tool, but no, it just has this message:

"Importing bookmarks from a file is currently only available to previous Delicious users who need to migrate historical data. If you are a previous Delicious user who needs bookmarks imported urgently, please email support@delicious.com with your account information."

I do still have a lot of delicious account backups, so if you give me your del account name I can see if I have a copy of your old links? Pretty unlikely, but worth a shot, maybe.

I am also looking for my old account. I don't know how I missed this whole thing because I am very up to date with everything related to the tech/software industry.

Did you manage to find the other person's account?

You can contact me through my website seannam.com

The other person never provided their delicious account name, so I was never able to look for it in my archives. I did look for the account "seannam" in my backups, but I'm afraid that was not an account I backed up. Sorry to have to give you bad news.
