Thank you! I agree--it's a great pairing, and there isn't much fic out there about them, so I'm glad to be able to contribute. Glad you liked it!

Damn, delilah, is anything you write ever not fantabulous?

This felt like you'd been spying on my brain, the unbelivable self-consciousness that I have not outgrown in the many years since I was 16. All the precious alone time ticking away while neither of them has the courage to reach across the popcorn bowl. I love the
And then he imagines sprouting wings and zipping Jesse off to his Mediterranean villa line. And the fear of discussing it, even though there's a good chance that a few right words could save them future time-wastage. Telling Jesse he smells nice and then retroactively worrying that might have been the wrong thing to say. His filthy thesaurus mind.

And the sad little 'when we're thirty' thread, for a little sting.

Seriously, this was wonderful. Thank you.

Thanks, Dr. S! I love Xander when he's nervous and unsure, and we all know that romantic endeavors aren't his forte. (I think that's why Xander/Anya worked so well on the show--no subtleties to decipher there...) It was fun to delve into that kind of teenage insecurity and vulnerability, which I think most of us retain on some level--some people just get better at hiding it...

I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
