[Yuri is holding out the SFC at some distance, far enough so viewers can see he’s in the park.]

I think I’ve been here about a week now? In the span of that, I’ve kicked some pirates’ asses, done some small jobs, wandered around, and ate mocha ca-well, that’s not important. Just wondering if anyone’s up for being sentimental about the past; I ( Read more... )

[Axel looks somewhere between amused and nonplussed.]

Are you keeping a video diary, or are we just having story time? Either way, giving away free food is a quick way to make friends.

Where I come from? Hm, now there's a trick question. Which time? [Literally having a past life makes this a bit complicated.]

Haha, no, I’m not necessarily doing this to make friends. Food’s just great bait for every kind of person. I want to know what places these “other worlds” are. Some might be ordinary, and others not. Also I’m bored like hell, that counts too.

[Yuri blinks at the question, long history? The guy didn't even look that old...]

Well, whichever comes to mind first. Memorable places.

Ooh, memorable places, hm. Where do I start? I've seen probably more than my fair share of 'other worlds', you could say. I guess if I had to choose the most memorable one, though, it'd be Twilight Town. It's just a little town by the ocean, where the sun never rises or sets, it just sits on the water. Prolly doesn't sound like much, but they've got the best ice cream you'll ever taste.

[A short, bitter chuckle.] If I were inclined to miss things, I think I'd miss that place.

Twilight Town... haha, sounds like a great town to just sit back and relax. Doubt I'd stick around that kind of place for long, but I'd love to try out the ice cream if it was that great.

[A long sigh. Normally, he was more reserved about his sweet tooth, but hey, if the other guy so smoothly advertised it... Yuri shakes his head, then lightly jokes.]

What, no obligation to remember it? Ouch, that'll hurt the ice cream merchant's feelings.

Nah, nothing like that. It's got nothing to do with obligation and everything to do with biology. Memories are one thing, and I remember that place fondly, but it's hard to miss something when it goes against your very physiology, you know?

[Nope, he's not going to explain further without the proper prompting. That's half the game.]

What, so something screws up with your health when you feel nostalgic? Or your kind just doesn't typically do it?

[As soon as the other man mentions "biology" and "physiology", Yuri just knows a lot of things'll go over his head; he simplifies his thoughts in one short sentence, arms folded.]

Sounds troublesome to say the least.

Let's just say I... don't have the parts.

... Parts. Right.

[Ooookay, even more confused now.]

[He shakes his head.]

... I guess you should just be satisfied you have memories, then. It's still better than amnesia.

[Amnesia? Yeah, like Roxas. Ouch. Yeah. Definitely better than amnesia. He gives a helpless chuckle, but it's kind of visibly forced.]

You got that right.

[He notices the pained expression the other puts on in response, but Yuri finds it more considerate to leave it be.]

... I wonder if Twilight Town's anything I can imagine. Come to think of it, I haven't seen an orange sky in forever.

[Heh, he looks a little nostalgic.] Just think of a little town by the sea at sunset. I'm sure there's plenty of places like it... nothing extraordinary, really. I just had some good times there.

Sun doesn't set where you come from?

It's nothing like that, there might be places where I'm from that are kind of like it... it's just that I never really paid attention to the sky, except at a certain namesake star. Now that we're stuck underwater, I almost regret I didn't spend time just staring at it.
