Spent the entire afternoon and evening down at Robertson Stadium yesterday cheering on my beloved Dynamo. Got to the game around 3 to do some general watching of warmups and to get the free hat. My grandmother died at 6:31 this morning. She is in a much better place now and I know she's finally free of all of her physical pain and suffering. I will miss her, but that knowledge is beautiful.

Does anyone on my friends list have any Pat Green I could download from them? I would owe you big time.

I finished reading Catcher in the Rye last night and I wish I could say my life was better for reading it, but as with many classics I've read I was just left thinking, "Well, I made it through that one." Maybe I'm just not deep enough to handle the classics.

So, more and more lately I have been pondering the fact that I'm still living at home. Sure, I'm saving a lot of money -- well, actually just putting a lot of money on my student loans -- but I'm itching for an even greater sense of independence. I'm going to have faith that there is a reason that I live so far away from the boy I'm just starting to date. It's so frustrating because it makes going out during the week such a challenge, but there must be a reason for it. Perhaps it will teach me patience... or something.

Ah, today is the day of my birth and I'm now home from work. A lot of nice things happened today and most of my kids were fairly well-behaved. Now I'm ready for Thai food and cake. Can things get any better?

Well, I can barely believe it is February already. My birthday is tomorrow and I still don't know where January went. Went downtown to see Brokeback Mountain at the one theater playing it here in Houston. The theater was a great little theater. It's the oldest still operating theater around here. The film was pretty great too. Good acting and good writing. So, I appreciated that. Then we went out to eat at this nice restaurant and had good sandwiches and fresh ( Read more... )
