Yesterday I went as far as Aldi to look for an offer they'd had a couple of weeks back and today I went to Bikehut to pick up locks I'd reserved online. Of course they weren't at the Rutherglen store as arranged and I had to trek over to Paisley where they still didn't have the right one but gave

I love roast veg. The boyfriend isn't keen on it though so it'll be corn on the cob for us.

*On* the cob?
I'm so far behind the times.... The last I heard, corn *on* the cob was anathema to Brits/Europeans, and sweet corn cut off the cob wasn't much of an improvement. Seemed too much like "fodder for beasts of the field," is how we used to hear it was being viewed on your side of the pond.

So now you've got me curious: when did that change?

It's been regular fare as long as I can remember. Cans of Green Giant sweetcorn were always around when I was a kid and we had the 'real' stuff regularly too.
