So my company is sending my to the UK next week. I'm thrilled, I haven't been since 1999. Wednesday night we have tickets to go see a World Cup match in London! I'm not a huge football fan, but it should be a blast. I'll have Friday night and all day Saturday to myself in London. I'm not sure exactly what to do. London is expensive as hell ( Read more... )

Sadly they wouldn't pick up the $1100 extra ticket so I could bring my husband :( maybe next time. The next conference is in Madrid in December. I'm really looking forward to that one.

If it weren't for my corporate employers deep pockets I would have never been able to travel like this. I've been abroad a few times now and it is a really fantastic adventure, but busy with work stuff. Being a tourist for a day or two just wets the appetite. i dream of the day that I can actually spend a few weeks over in Europe with no work obligations.

I should have gone earlier in the day cause Camdentown was exactly what I was looking for. The stupid Northern line tube service was down on Saturday so it took my forever to get up there from Soho. By the time I got my bearings all the shops were closing. I did find Slimelight while I was up in Islington though. Excellent nightclub!
