There's a long tradition that art is tied to suffering...that without being unhappy with some facet of our lives or our society, we wouldn't notice the need to create something better.
(I think since I'm all artist-minded anyway, that's why I only get the desire to really-i-mean-really clean house when I'm overwhelming busy...but I digress.)
I recommend some writing prompts, whether online (such as oneword.com or hell, even onecaption.com ...just check my "writing" folder under my favorites, particulary under "resources") or just flipping through images until you find one that speaks of a story. It's best to use plain images without captions or familiarity...you might check out some of my art books/postcards for that. And we can go hunt around for some or for idea starters or for one of those writing prompt books, if you want.
