The return of Home Roasting

After my last post, I went out and got a popcorn popper, because the coffee was FOUL. Acidic, and burnt and nasty. Take two, in the popcorn popper, wasn't burnt, but it also wasn't actually roasted. Ooookay

Can you do the roasting near a window, and construct a simple hood/chimney for it?

Maybe? The popper cord is quite short, and we don't have any outlets near the window.

I've been closing the kitchen off from the rest of the house, and turning on the bathroom vent. It hasn't been too bad, but it also hasn't been great.
