With the pentagram representing the microcosm and the hexagram representing the macrocosm, there seems to be a reference to the reciprocal relationship between the two, as in the Emerald Tablet. With Yin and Yang associated with female and male energies, respectively, this image seems (perhaps) to suggest that the energy of one pole is effective for contacting the macrocosm through the microcosm, while the energy of the other pole would be better for contacting the microcosm through the macrocosm.
I'm at work, so I wont even try to correlate the astrological implications of the date.
