Well, the only part I "made" was the flames behind the phoenixes. The phoenixes were line drawings so I colored them in. I also colored the phoenixes' plumage according to the four scales for the 6 planets (the phoenix representing the Sun.) The fruit came from a still life and the goddess Feronia is technically Flora (by Carlo Procaccini, 1600 e.v.) but since they and Pomona often were celebrated interchangably I felt it was OK to incorporate her into the image.

I am just completely stunned everytime I read articles like that. The shee scale of these things never ceases to just blow me away.

I knew if anyone had a good phoenix-related link it would be good Brother Breck. And happy belated solar return, you old conjurer!
