Those of you on Facebook probably saw my rant about dog shit. I shouldn't have to worry about stepping in any when I get out of my car after work. I just shouldn't. I don't have a dog

We have a law that dog owners are supposed to clean up after their dogs. Sadly, not everyone does. So even though I have a dog, and I clean up after it, I still find other dog's stuff in my yard. And I don't like stepping in it either.
My introduction to our political system was at about age 8. My mom was doing some "grass-roots" petition work in support of a leash law in Honolulu, and asked me why I would support one. I told her a few things - like not wanting to end up falling in the stuff when playing at a park or schoolyard - and she hand-printed it up neatly in a scroll format so I could read it to the city council... which I did. :-)
Good luck with that. Inconsiderate dog owners (and I'm speaking AS a dog owner) are some of the most obnoxious people.
Not a bad idea -- but I'd rather deal with dog poop than the head of our HOA. No one likes him! He's a real jerk. If the head of your HOA is different, do as Kirine suggests. Most people in our area just turn their dogs loose in their own yards, though; not a lot of walks. There is limited danger if you stay off others' lawns!
I'm going to try that route first. If these people want to just let their dogs run outside to do their business then they need to get a fence, even one of those invisible ones. Using other lawns is just wrong!
