Oh, the old graphics card isn't fond of beach lots. I guess I could plop these down in deep ponds, couldn't I?

Absolutely! The larger sizes should work better in ponds anyway since you only have 10 slots of water to work with on beach lots unless you lower the terrain. I know there's a tutorial on MTS about making the hood water run onto lots so you can have a fake-sea, but I haven't had the chance to try it out yet.
