One of the company servers crashed down on 12/19/2013, and in the following 48 hours, I worked 35 hours including 26 straight hours after the crash, until we finally set up a new server and recovered it from the tape.
When I was in collage and graduate school I used to do that pretty often, not any more. I took off a whole week (combined with the holidays I was away from office for two weeks) to recover from the fatigue. I guess I am getting old, aren't I?

Yes, we all pulled numerous all nighters in University but I think it was easier not only because of the age. In University everybody does it; however at work, only certain people got screwed. I understand you're in IT? So, it's part of the job, same goes for me, I am in accounting. Sure, I was tired when I had to work those crazy hours last week but it's also because I had to work and others - don't. That's what always pisses me off and I am sure this fact contributes to the tiredness a lot.
But enough about dark things. Let's enjoy the pleasures of life and it bright moments! In this vein - thank you again a lot for your wishes, it's really so, so nice to get the felicitations from around the world.
Have a great week.
