It's at this point that you must pull a weapon on the driver and order him to stop. I'm sorry, you might have to threaten his/her life to convince him that you don't want any part of it. It might end your friendship, but at least you would remain a free man. I believe it would be considered self-defense in this case because for all you know he could be planning a shootout with the cops.

If he had pulled a gun on you though, you have just become a hostage. Some friend he is >,>

Basically if you're not directly threatened, but you do nothing about it, you're an accomplice. You have to make a show that you're trying to solve the situation yourself.
