Long post is long and rambly o.O
*waves* Apparently my last post was eight weeks ago. I've missed a posting strike (or have I? XD), several birthdays, and many other mentionable and notable events. I've attended FCN (I drove the death mobile and all I got was this packet of ramen ;P ). Got to hang out with Expy and play Brawl in the alcove at the hotel. It was a good small con, I just can't get over the fact I never seem to say hi enough or things like that. *shrugs*
I'm skipping over a huge chunk of stuff, but I'm sure you'd chat and bug me for more info if you hadn't already. I've got about three weeks of classes left before I've hopefully finished my associates.
Thanks to the con, my interest in M:tG (and gaming in general) has re-awakened. Otherwise, I'm still feeling pangs of withdrawal from WoW (Bought the open sourced RPG guide for it from a used book/gaming store XD), and picked up a poker habit. In general, I don't have time to game (In general, I waste way too much time to have time to do anything).
Seems like Lots of online friends have moved hither and yon, leaving LJ entirely or going friends only, some of whom didn't take me with them. A few offline friends have moved as well, apparently.
I've 'finished' homework for the week (I never seem to be finished, because everything's cumulative XD) and am just kinda putzing around until I need to take Colt to work. I'm considering going out to eat somewhere, but that's just another expense. After I take her to work I need to drive out to Monoliths place and return some of the stuff he'd left here a few weeks back. His intents to move quickly are often like that of a starving person at a buffet line. He's kinda stuck in this self imposed bill hell and has to settle things before he can move. Still waiting to hear back from a few other people that have expressed interest in moving this way or out right getting a house.
There's an open house interview whatcha callit for a trucking company a friend of mine works for on the 30th I'm considering getting out for. I'm not entirely sure what I'd want to finish my education in at this point, and am kinda tired of 'just scraping by' financially I guess. So I have to decide if the next 18 months of my life is worth living in a much higher pay scale than I'd been getting over the past few years. Looking back at things, most of my graduating class has probably finished their bachelors degrees (I know a few have finished their Masters) I'm not particularly sure where I'd want to go with my degree as it is, except that I'm not willing to settle with just what little I've got.
As for recreational desires, I still want to have the time to write, and learn more stuff. A standard structured college experience sort of offers a good mix of both, but I'd really have to have the funds to afford to do that sort of thing. I've pretty much lost the chance to have the 'typical college experience' XD, and I guess that's not entirely a bad thing except this shell I hide behind will just remain all the while longer. A truck driving job would Sort of let me 'see the country', mostly in the sense I see its highways, it's crappy drivers, and it's rest stops. So that isn't much of a plus. It does, however, give me the opportunity to tell others I'll be near such and such a truckstop in such and such a state if anyone were to want to visit for dinner or such. It pays relatively well, and so long as I drive for a company, they pay for the gas and maintenance. It's sure better than the...what was my bottom line this year...12k I earned in 07, I think. I did finally do my taxes ON the 15th XD, and already I can't remember most of the details.
I've got friends, online or otherwise, I just can't find the time to keep up with socially, and that does kinda bother me. Yeah, people drift and move on...but they're mine! :P *clings to* hehehe. And since making new friends is hard for me, you can imagine how much shorter my list of contacts seems to get over the years. Out of the test excursion I tried at the start of the semester, I think I'm still sort of in contact with three of the ten people I made contact with (Or was randomly contacted by).
Still got about an hour to 11, not entirely sure what to talk about (don't ask how that's supposed to be any different than normal though XD). I think three or four of you have added me within the past few months, sorry I've been so quiet :P. Lots of hours between the two jobs and lots of homework between what's left of my classes and all the time inbetween I seem to loose, waste, or misappropriate.
If you're looking to move out this way, you've got till about June to tell me so I can make the necessary arrangements. After June I have to let the apartment company know whether we're keeping this place, getting something smaller, bigger, or leaving entirely. Now as much as I don't mind sleeping in my car a night or two, I don't wish to live in it like I could have done with my van :P. First of all I fully expect it to fall apart irreplacably one of these days, and second, the insulation in it is worse than in my current room XD. If I get the job with the trucking company, I'd be on the road a lot anyhow, and would need someone to 'watch over everything *nudge*'. If I don't...well...heck if I know, but we'd make it work somehow. I sure don't intend to keep both of my current jobs much longer after classes are over. So unless the rout job turns permanent fulltime, I'd probably start looking elsewhere after the end of the semester. I'll at least be able to pick up the CDL learners guide thing as more than casual reading at that point.
As such, convention plans are understandably in the air. AC's in July, GenCon's August, MFM's September, and MFF's November. I'd probably be happy if I made it to one of those. I can't really justify asking for time off from both jobs for more than maybe one of those, and as they're all still several months in the future, that's a lot of speculation. Given that I'm hoping to find a new job of some gainful sort within the next month or two, expecting time off at all is rather silly.
Ah well, that's good enough given the fact it's been...about two months between posts. Hopefully you're all doing well or getting better. I cant' say whether I'll be around more or less any better than normal :p. Especially since my work hours keep changing (went through one boss, three district bosses, and now a new position. As for FedEx, I was supposed to have gone up a position title, but that seems to have yet to happen).
Have a good one :)
