Oh joyous fun, all the semi's are stick shifts XD. If you thought my car was dangerous, me behind a manual transmission should be all the more fun. I go from 'screaming death-mobile' to 'grinding death-mobile' ;P. semi stick shifts are quite easy to work. Just pretend you're in a video game. I hate stick shifts personnally, but it depends on the truck. I found that a Volvo truck is heaven compared to an International.

I never used a Freightliner. If ya gotta go slamming on your brakes, if you are still rolling, 4th gear is usually a fairly safe default if you are on the lower setting. If you are on the upper setting then 5th gear should work. Remember, if ya can't find 'em, grind 'em.

You probably didn't see it but Rona drives a stick all the time.... no, I'm not talking about that, her little car has a stick shift. I find it funny, all my life I remember more women driving stick shifts than men, this includes my mom to drive a stick for ten years in three different cars, and various bus drivers when I lived in Floriduh, some of the older buses were sticks.

I've considered being a trucker, but my fear of manual transmissions and giant vehicles that can kill people due to a millisecond's distraction have dissuaded me. ;)
