It's just an excuse to raise money and the truckers are the ones getting shafted this time.

It happened to me many years ago in Tennessee. The state government decided to levy a 'privilege tax'on most professionals; doctors, lawyers, accountants, engineers, etc. They charge us a yearly fee of $400 just to maintain our license which is above and beyond the cost of the license.

Ouch!

Here it's not the price (although if you count all truck drivers in EU...). It's more like you get a useless paper that you had before anyway since all those training give you a paper (driving license, proof of professional training, etc.) and moreover you need to pay for it. Man for 30 € I could have a high quality print of a commission or even a blowjob!

It's getting ignorant here too with CSA2010 (or what ever they are calling it now) there is a monsterous database going back 3 years for tickets and inspections, and 5 years for crashes ( ... )

Well, that's unfair, here they are not allowed to count your driving time/mistake while you are off duty, as a car driver, you are not considered a professional ( ... )

There's a huge surplus of truck drivers in the US, and the DOT (the assholes in charge of commercial truck regulations) have talked about wanting to take at least a million drivers off the road permanently.

And increase the amount of wrecks caused by poor, overworked truckers.

Then it has all the functionality of my State Fireman's and Fire Marshall's Association card except that my card is free. It does nothing either except identify me as a firefighter even though the hat I have also identifies me as a firefighter. My driver's license has more functionality it would seem.

Well, I'll have a driving license, a proof of professional training, a chip card for driving and this new card that states that I have all of the aforementioned

Over here we have a classification system that tells law enforcement what we are qualified to drive without the need for so many cards.
