Security breach / email threat PSA

In case anyone reading this was not already aware, in March there was a security breach at DreamWidth and a number of user names and passwords were compromised (DW announcement here). Per their instructions, I immediately changed my DW password and also my LJ and AO3 passwords. Recently I got an email that correctly stated my (former) DW password ( Read more... )

Thanks for the heads up. I've changed all my passwords, and hopefully that will help. I've got enough on without being threatened from little used archives! ;)

I know, right?? As if we need this nonsense. I can tell you it was more than a little unnerving to see my (old) password right there, in some nefarious person's possession!

That's very helpful; thank you! I remember getting the email in March, but such is the world right now that I totally forget. I am remedying the situation right now. Scary.

Thank you for the reminder. I remember that email as well, but somehow it slipped my mind to actually change my password. I've now remedied that.
