Ren loved sunsets.
It wasn't just the myriad of warm hues that streaked across the horizon, casting shadows with the oncoming night, that Ren loved. No, what he loved most was the expression of absolute happiness that crossed Aoba's features as they stood out on the veranda.
The way Aoba's honey gaze softened even as the clouds darkened, the dying sun just a burning sliver on the horizon. The way Aoba turned to him, wearing that expression, hand grasping his, tightening his grip, while the street lamps flickered on.
The way Aoba whispered 'I love you'.
He loved sunsets alright.
