Hi Nikki, Dad's in the hospital again, but I let him know that you wrote, and he said he'll keep you in his prayers, as we all will. He should be out tomorrow. Paul
Dad talked about you and his LJ friends a lot. I'm sorry to inform you that dad (Delroy) passed away Sept 16th 2008.
The tumor on his lung reappeared about April or May, somewhere around there. They kept an eye on it, but it really wasn't life threatening. He went in to the hospital on Sept 3 to have it removed, and the surgery actually went better than expected. He was released from the hospital on the 16th and died three or four hours later. The cause is really unknown, we kids didn't press it. The knowledge wouldn't bring him back to us. The official cause is black lung.
I spoke with him the night before he went to the hospital (Sept 2) and never got to speak with him again. He was always asleep, and my work hours kept me from being able to get in touch. I'm just glad that he was able to go home and be with his family, and see his grandson before he passed.
We will all miss him greatly. He really appreciated your correspondence. Thank you for being his friend.

He had a huge heart of gold and was happy to share it with everyone around him. Delroy met his wife, Betty Ingram, in De Beque in 1959. After their chance meeting, he told his friend, 'I'm going to marry that girl,' which he did on September 1, 1961 in Grand Junction. I has been a very difficult year... I have been in the hospital four times in the last six months I put my life in God’s hands, and pray for the best.
I am sorry to hear you are not doing very good, ...... I see my son is praying for you and he will have his friends praying for you also.
I am proud of you still seeking God and his Son Jesus.
I pray that this year will bring you the best in life and your needs will be filled.
Gods blessings be with you and your family.
