Ahh! Drama overload today! Perhaps we really should get a maid. My mother spilled boiling hot oil on her feet, and there was Much Panic. Forced her to soak her feet in water and such. Was pretty much at a loss. I *almost* started regretting having always ignored the emergency response instructions. Almost. Thank God for brothers ( Read more... )

Ahh, Faith, that must have been a dreadful experience for you... tell your mother to take care, will you? And yourself too, don't take it too hard, since I'm sure we'll all guilty of assuming that our moms will always be alright. After all, they are our moms for a reason, and they're always so capable and all knowing.

Boiling hot oil is hot... perhaps you should call in a doctor? It might be difficult for her to move around.

She's much better now (after I forced her to soak her feet in cold water yesterday). Ha! I was right that it was 1st degree, then. The doctor said it was fine.

And she's in a real jolly mood right now. She's been saying stuff like, "OMG, you guys make such great nurses!" etc. Hopefully her good mood lasts. ^_^"
