I also think the guy's name was Pilate not Pilot. :) To be fair to this guy I did find the pope's welcoming ceremony pretty excessive as well.

The bible says no such thing. The bible does say only worship one being, and that is god (so he probably took it from there). But you know, one of the commandments is respect your father and mother...so if you can't call your dad...dad...that's pretty disrespectful.
