So...Ryan and I have decided that in an attempt to stave off more instances like the Virginia Tech shooting- all the proffessors lie and say that it's your junior year that sucks when in reality it is the first semester of your senior year. This way the students go into the year thinking it is going to be okay and don't bring all their guns with

My snapshot:
I average around 3 projects a week, three tests every 3 weeks (which they for some ungodly reason, place them all on back to back days), and a catastrophically huge project every 3 weeks. My programming assignments (which are all of my projects minus one) take from an hour to an excess of 48 man hours typically.
This is in addition to my 17 hours a week work schedule, my responsibilities to Chi Phi, my responsibilities to UGRB and UEMSA, and some sleep in between.
Apparently I love pain, because I've applied for another job in addition to this because it's a great resume filler. So I'm going to be packing 18 credit hours + 2 jobs + 3 website building positions + Chi Phi by the end of it all.
We're both one in the same. Pushing ourselves to the limit till the end. Not that I am complaining of course ;)

I find it hilarious/beyond sad that people who generally are classified by tests/school/society as 'smart' so very often do such very stupid stuff as what I am doing now and what you are doing. Someone should do a study or something.

While some people are content floating through life doing barely enough to get by, we are never content with the mediocre or bare minimum, but rather find ourselves constantly striving to do more, so we can be ready to make our mark on the world. We constantly test our limits as a blacksmith tempers steel in order to harden ourselves, to strengthen ourselves for the next challenge ahead.
We are by definition, not average, and our ability to operate and succeed against such incredible odds shows and displays this.
What you and I are doing isn't stupid, but rather an integral part of our core nature. Don't ever forget that. :)

Normally I would agree with you. But right now, coming out of yet another massive fight with my SD team leaders, having stayed up late to do a wind tunnel test only to get data on one of my models that is absolutely worthless, looking forward to a weekend of ringing up custormers and then trying to do two simultaneous biological tests...well, it looks and feels like stupid.
I take you words to heart though and they make me happy. Thank you! And as soon as I'm finished with the semester I'm sure I will be back to agreeing with you 100%
*hugs rebornasphoenix* really though- thanks for that, I feel better all ready
